Dr. Clinton is a physician-scientist who divides his effort between clinical care and research. He serves as director of genitourinary oncology for The James and manages the renowned Prostate Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic. This team is a national leader in accrual to therapeutic trials in genitourinary cancer. Dr. Clinton also has an active laboratory research program that focuses primarily on understanding the development of prostate cancer, as well as its prevention and treatment. One area of research emphasizes the impact of dietary patterns, specific foods and nutrients on prostate cancer risk. These studies are often conducted in collaboration with scientists in other disciplines at Ohio State, such as food science and agriculture, in a coordinated “crops to clinic” research effort. The laboratory team has expertise in molecular biology, cellular and experimental models of carcinogenesis, and human clinical trials, providing an excellent example of contemporary translational cancer research.
